The feeling of isolation or loneliness is a leading cause of declining health and older adults are the most vulnerable. A study of the impact of voice assistants could have on feelings of loneliness in older adults was conducted in the United Kingdom. The study took place at Abbeyfield, a non-profit that provides a home and care for the elderly, in collaboration with Greenwood Campbell and the University of Reading.

The Voice for Loneliness study states that, in the UK, about half a million older people go at least 5 days a week without speaking to another person. By applying the same statistics, that could mean more than 3.5 million people in the US are in this position. How can we change this? What can we do to help?
